Damon Brown Quintet featuring Tammy Weis
Damon Brown’s trumpet and long-guage flugelhorn are well-known in Europe and have been welcome sounds in Paris, Barcelona and other jazz-friendly cities for years.
The Quintet includes Dave Newton on piano, Scott Hammond on drums and Will Harris on bass.
This welcome visit to Black Mountain Jazz features Tammy Weis, who is Canadian born. She has graced the stages of Canada’s finest jazz venues, and performed at the Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal Jazz festivals Now resident in the UK, her more recent highlights include meeting HRH the Queen, supporting the Canadian Tenors with Hayley Westenra at the Union Chapel, performing with Randy Bachman at Pizza on the Park, Bobby McFerrin at the Royal Festival Hall and Jamie Cullum at the Jazz Cafe.
